|
June 9, 2004 - Maryland voters are fighting for election integrity, but one important official doesn't think that the State Board of Elections (SBE) is accountable to the people - or the law. A group of Maryland citizens(including TrueVoteMD members) recently filed a lawsuit urging the SBE to increase security for electronic voting machines before the November election. However, State Attorney General Joseph Curran recently asked the court to throw out the suit because the SBE's decisions are "not subject to judicial review." Public servants shouldn't be above the law, and citizens have a right to seek legal remedies when those officials make bad decisions. Tell the Attorney General and Maryland's top election official that election integrity deserves a fair hearing!
