Senate Hearing on Paper Ballot Bill (SB713)
Annapolis, Maryland

New Litigation Documents to be Revealed Votes Lost in 2004:

Annapolis, Maryland.  Linda Schade, plaintiff in suit against Maryland Elections Administrator Linda Lamone will reveal the following documents to the State Senate EHE Committee in a bill hearing tomorrow, February 16th, 2006 at 1pm:

Document from Baltimore Board of Elections: list of machines used  in November 2004 elections which recorded no votes whatsoever.  And some that recorded just a few votes. These documents present a prima facie case that significant numbers of votes were lost in the 2004 elections.

Documents showing that MD used a completely uncertified voting system in the March 2004 primary.  "Why does this matter?  Because voting on an untested system is like getting into an airplane without making sure the wings are attached, said Linda Schade, Director of TrueVoteMD.org.  That's why Maryland and most states require the use of certified systems."

And fireworks may fly when Lamone is asked by legislators about the security and legality of Maryland's Diebold system for 2006.  Why? The recent hack of Diebold in Leon County, Florida exploited 'interpreted software code' which is used on the memory cards on all Diebold's voting machines.  While California forced Diebold to re-test/re-certify their (TSx) memory cards, Lamone is hoping no one will notice that she has failed to call for the re-testing of the Diebold (TS) memory cards used in Maryland's 20,000 voting machines, leaving Maryland wide open for hacking in 2006.
