TrueVoters and other Concerned Marylanders,
We did a terrific job packing the
hearing and testifying in the House on February 9th. Now we need to
wow the Senate one more time for 2006!!
UPCOMING
SENATE HEARING
This Thursday,
February 16 at 1pm, SB713 will be heard by the EHE Committee. We are
quite hopeful that the bill will pass this year - so this may be your last
opportunity to testify about why a voter-verified paper ballot and audit trail
are needed for our Diebold voting system and our democracy.
WHEN: 1:00pm on Thursday
February 16 (Get there at 12:30 for parking and getting through security)
WHERE: Miller
Senate Office Building, 2 West Wing, 11 Bladen St., Annapolis, MD 21401 – 1991 (410)
841-3661, (301) 858-3661 e-mail: ehe@mlis.state.md.us
(See parking info and map of Annapolis)
WHAT TO DO? Email 3 minutes of comments (1-1.5
pages) about why we need a paper trail (SB713) to me, Linda Schade, and
I'll arrange to sign you up. Please get comments to me by a
5pm deadline of Wednesday 2-15. You can also send me testimony without
coming to speak.

WHO:
The rule here is: the more the merrier.
WHAT TO
SAY: Make all your favorite points
about why it is obvious and common sense that we need a way to ensure our votes
are accurately counted and that we need a way to do recounts as election law in
Maryland and many other states requires. I've pasted TrueVote's rebuttal
to Linda Lamone's House testimony last week for ideas on which issues to
address. Call Alex in the office if you have any questions.
Looking forward
to seeing you in Annapolis,
